Your Detailed Itinerary:

Monday, July 26th: Calgary
Join us as we explore the beautiful Canadian Rockies by train. We depart home for a transfer to the airport  Upon arrival in Calgary we will be transferred to our hotel. 

Tuesday, July 27th: Calgary - Banff
We begin our morning with a tour of Calgary’s major sights, including Stampede Park and Saddledome Stadium, and visit FORT CALGARY.  Then, enter the scenic heart of the Canadian Rockies—BANFF NATIONAL PARK, Canada’s oldest national park.  This afternoon’s sightseeing includes a ride on the BANFF GONDOLA up Sulphur Mountain, with stops at the Hoodoos along the Bow River and at Bow Falls.  Arrive later today at the beautiful Banff Park Lodge. Today breakfast and dinner will be included.

Wednesday, July 28th: Banff - Lake Louise
Today, enjoy fabulous scenery with lots of photo stops en route to Lake Louise.  See the Natural Bridge spanning the Kicking Horse River, Emerald Lake, Yoho National Park, and Moraine Lake.  After time exploring scenic Lake Louise, enjoy lunch at the famous Chateau Lake Louise before returning to Banff.  Today breakfast and lunch will be included.

Thursday, July 29th: Banff National Park
A free day at leisure to enjoy the tranquil setting of this resort renowned for its majestic mountains.  You may wish to sign up for the float trip down the Bow River, play golf, shop, hike the wilderness trails, or explore some of the local historic attractions and museums.  Today breakfast will be included.

Friday, July 30th: Banff - Columbia Icefield - Jasper
Follow Icefields Parkway and head for JASPER NATIONAL PARK.  Scale Bow Pass with splendid views of Peyto Lake, then climb Sunwapta Pass for a stunning vistas of alpine meadows, waterfalls, and glaciers.  Next is the highlight of the day: stop at the 1,000-foot-think Columbia Icefield for a thrilling ICE EXPLORER RIDE.  See Athabasca Falls before reaching the resort village of Jasper by late afternoon.  Today breakfast and dinner will be included.

Saturday, July 31st: Jasper
Enjoy an excursion to Maligne Lake for a fully narrated CRUISE to Spirit Island.  The balance of the day is at your leisure.  Maybe take an optional float trip down the historic Athabasca River, where your experienced guide will navigate as you absorb the splendor of Jasper National Park.  This afternoon, perhaps play a round of golf on one of the top-rated courses in North America or stroll the streets of Jasper with its array of specialty stores.  Today breakfast will be included.

Sunday, August 1st: Jasper - Rocky Mountaineer®- Kamloops
Travel onboard the ROCKY MOUNTAINEER from Jasper to Kamloops in the heart of British Columbia’s interior.  As you journey, you will be surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the Continental Divide and by the river valleys of the Manshee and Cariboo Mountains.  Today’s highlights include Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Pyramid Falls, the climb over Yeallowhead Pass, and the journey along the North Thompson River.  Today breakfast and lunch will be included.

Monday, August 2nd: Kamloops - Rocky Mountaineer® - Vancouver
Your journey continues west towards the Pacific Ocean.  We experience dramatic changes in the landscape.  Have your cameras ready for both scenery and wildlife.  Leaving Kamloops, we follow the Thompson River through the Cascade Mountains to the mighty Fraser River featuring the churning Hell’s Gate.  This rugged terrain soon smoothes to the gentler landscape of the Fraser Valley with the Coast Mountains framing this bountiful farmland.  This evening we arrive in Vancouver, the largest city in
British Columbia, where your rail journey ends.  Today breakfast and lunch will be included.

Tuesday, August 3rd: Vancouver - Victoria
This morning, enjoy a city tour of Vancouver, including Stanley Park and its famous totem poles.  Catch the FERRY over to Vancouver Island and Victoria.  Major attractions on your orientation tour include the gardens of Beacon Hill Park, the Empress Hotel, Bastion Square, and Thunderbird Park.  Today breakfast will be included.

Wednesday, August 4th: Victoria
This morning, visit world-famous BUTCHART GARDENS followed by free time for independent sightseeing and shopping.  Your Tour Director suggests an optional wildlife and whale-watching trip.  For shoppers, Government Street’s elegant shops and Market Square’s collection of specialty stores are good places to start.  History buffs should be sure to visit the Royal British Columbia Museum.  This evening, your Tour Director hosts a special farewell dinner.  Today breakfast and dinner will be
included.

Thursday, August 5th: Vancouver - Depart for Home
Today we will depart for home with a lifetime of memories. Today breakfast will be included.

One of the many memorable moments of our tour will be a two-day journey from Vancouver to Jasper, cutting right into the heart of the Rocky Mountain region.  Jagged mountains piercing puffy clouds; a rushing river racing beside we; patches of undisturbed green woodlands.  Watch all the dramatic scenery unfold, right before our eyes as we travel on the Rocky Mountaineer® Train during the day.  Our overnight stop will be in the charming city of Kamloops, British Columbia.  The Rocky Mountaineer® offers a comfortable, air-conditioned ride, complete with dining services.  Join us on the road less traveled and experience the beauty of Western Canada.

An overnight bag is necessary for our stay in Kamloops for all RedLeaf passengers on the Rocky Mountaineer Train.

Maximum elevation: 7,000 feet

Double $3,999.00 per person based on double occupancy

It is strongly recommended that you book early as participation is limited. 

A deposit of $600.00 is due at time of booking.  Final payment is due no later than Friday, May 28, 2010.

Trip cancellation insurance is highly recommended which provides reimbursement coverage for trip cancellation for covered medical reasons, and other benefits include Bankruptcy/Default, Trip Delay, Accident Medical Expense, Sickness Medical Expense, Common Carrier AD&D, 24-hour AD&D,
Baggage & Personal Effects, Baggage Delay, Medical Evacuation, and emergency, toll-free, travel
assistance.  This trip cancellation insurance is available at a rate of $239.00 per person and may be purchased at time of deposit or final payment.  Please note, if insurance is purchased at time of final payment, pre-existing conditions are not covered.
 


Rocky Mountaineer GoldLeaf Service® Optional Upgrade
$750.00 USD per person, double, land only

For an additional cost, we can enjoy the above tour traveling on the Rocky Mountaineer® Train in their deluxe GoldLeaf Service. This upgraded service will provide we with an assigned seat in the Bi-Level Dome Coach.  Please ask our reservation agent for additional information. Space is limited.

Identification:
Passports are required for this tour at your expense. Certain countries require a minimum of 6 months passport validity. We are strongly urged to contact the appropriate consulate for details. Visit www.travel.state.gov for the U.S. State Department for the latest details about passports and visa requirements.

IMPORTANT: We recommend that our clients traveling abroad take a photocopy of their passport and applicable visas. It should be packed separately from our actual passport and visa. We also recommend leaving a copy at home with our emergency contact.

Cancellation Charges for this tour: Cancellations received between March 29, 2010 and May 22, 2010 will result in a cancellation penalty of $400.00 per person.  Cancellations received between  May 23 and July 4, 2010 will result in a cancellation penalty equal to 20% of the total trip price.  Cancellation received between July 5, 2010 and July 18, 2010 will result in a cancellation penalty equal to 30% of the total trip price.  Cancellations received between July 19, 2010 and July 25, 2010 will result in cancellation penalties equal to 50% of the total trip price.  Cancellations received after July 25, 2010 will result in cancellation penalties equal to 100% of the total trip.
